Bleter fun Mayn Lebn

בלעטער פֿון מײַן לעבן

by Abraham Cahan (אבֿרהם קאַהאַן)

The five-volume memoirs of Abraham Cahan (1860–1951), founding editor of the Forverts and a central figure in Jewish immigrant life in America. Written in Yiddish and published in New York between 1926 and 1931, the book follows his childhood and youth in the Russian Empire, his emigration and first years in America, his decades of socialist and journalistic activity, the founding and growth of the Forverts, and the major events of his middle years. It is presented here as a word-by-word transcription of the original Yiddish alongside a complete English translation, chapter by chapter.
